THERE IS A BUTTERFLY INSIDE
waiting to emerge from the darkness
The Butterfly Inside offers trauma-informed public speaking, education on addiction, traumatic brain injuries, and suicide prevention. We also provide intervention services, addiction treatment placement, and mentorship tailored to women and adolescent girls in crisis.
Kelsie, a nationally ranked all-star cheerleader, gymnast, recovering addict, suicide survivor, and mother of four, is dedicated to educating communities about the profound impact of trauma on mental health and addiction. Entering recovery at just 16 years old in 2006, Kelsie is a trauma survivor who has faced teen incarceration, traumatic brain injuries from sports, mental health challenges, and a relapse that led to a suicide attempt in 2017. This turning point marked the beginning of her long-term recovery journey.
Now, with seven years of sobriety and over a decade of experience in recovery, Kelsie uses her story of resilience to break the stigma surrounding mental health. Through her work, she empowers others to live authentically, unashamed, and with a renewed sense of purpose.
"There is a butterfly inside of us all waiting to emerge from the darkness trauma can leave us in. Your life is worth saving. You are worth it."
